About us

Coating Consultancy van Klaveren is headed by Leo van Klaveren and founded May 2015.

Leo is an experienced and fully certified coating engineer who has participated in more than 100 Superyacht paint projects ranging from prestigious new build projects to complicated re-fit projects in the Netherlands, Germany, Southern Europe and America the last 10 years.

October 2017 Leo became one of the tutors of the RMCI Course. The RMCI qualification was instigated by the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) in conjunction with the SuperYacht Builders Association (SYBAss) and working with the International Institute of Marine Surveyors (IIMS). The course, the qualification and the certification system were produced in response to the request from these bodies.

Coating Consultancy van Klaveren’s goal is to work according the KISS principle. KISS is an acronym for “Keep it Simple, Stupid” as a principle introduced by the U.S. Navy in 1960. The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore, simplicity should be a key goal and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.
